Tyler “Ty” P. Cruz is an attorney at Deprez Tax Law. He focuses on assisting individuals and small businesses with tax planning and any tax controversy issues that arise with the IRS and California Franchise Tax Board (“FTB”). Ty assists small businesses at different phases of their lifecycle, offering guidance on organization, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and dissolution. He is dedicated to helping individuals and businesses in Long Beach and the surrounding areas.

Ty received his Juris Doctor with an emphasis in tax law from Chapman University Fowler School of Law. He earned the Highest-Grade Award in Advanced Federal Income Tax (Spring 2024), acted as President of the Tax Law Society (2023–24), and was selected as a Tax Law Honors Scholarship recipient (2023–24; 2024–25) based on high academic achievement in tax law courses. Ty was also a member of Chapman Law Review, where he served as a Staff Editor (2023–24) and Executive Article Submissions Editor (2024–25) for the journal.

Ty is a Long Beach native and loves engaging with the Long Beach community. He mentors undergraduate students for the CSULB Law Society and Center for First Amendment Studies at California State University, Long Beach. He is a member of the Long Beach Bar Association. And in his free time, Ty frequents various Long Beach social hobby clubs for tabletop games and distance running.
